January 1, 2021

 So what happened in 2020?
Everything and nothing.

World Pandemic and civil unrest have kept the world and the USA in a state of tension.

Not much running has happened.  Very little travel has been enjoyed and well, running races has been non-existent in 2020.

We, humanity, are dividing into sides and tribes and treating the other less than human.  While we are the most blessed humans in existence through time and place, we are at an ugly point in the actions of humanity.

Many people think 2020 can't end soon enough and surely 2021 will be better.
What if it isn't?
Why will it be better?
The powers that be have lied to us about any and all facts about the COVID-19 virus from where it is from to how contagious it is.  The powers that be have different "social distancing" rules for the people and for themselves.  We will never know the actual science nor the actual death counts because everything about the Chinese Virus has been politicized.

With all this going on.  My 2021 can be the very best if I take responsibility for how my 2021 will be.  How will I respond to things I can control and things I can't control?
Where will I turn for peace?

I choose to turn to my Savior, my friend, Jesus Christ for peace.  He will be my guide.

I'm starting 2021 11 lbs heavier than I started 2020.
I haven't run less miles in a year since 2009.

It is time to start training!

Chris suggested an Appalachian Trial adventure, all of the AT in the state of Georgia, USA.  Maybe in May 2021.  Treadmill hiking with my backpack has begun!

I've found a Facebook Group that has been of great help.  It was created by Freddy Jacquin, Creating the Body, Health and Happiness You Want.  He offered daily hypnosis sessions to help people overcome their self-imposed limitations.  This group and what has been taught has helped me get in the right mind set to get back to healthy goals and running adventures.

2020 taught me to find my identity in and through Jesus Christ
2020 taught me to seek out and hunt for gratitude and county my blessings.

Goodbye 2020, you sure have been an adventure.
Hello 2021, lets make you the best ever.
